Description

Canyoning is a relatively new mountain sport. It consists of following the river course or a canyon through its narrow stretches progressing in different ways: swimming, jumping, sliding on toboggans rappelling, going through siphons, etc.

Guara houses some of the most valued canyons in Europe. It is here where this activity became popular thanks to its beautiful landscape and its optimal weather conditions (water temperature and sunny climate)

In Guara there are canyons for all levels, even families with kids can enjoy this fun activity.

Fact Sheet

Physical conditions: good of physical shape and resistance, previous experience in canyoning, knowing the rappel technique, being able to swim, not being pregnant, not suffering from vertigo or claustrophobia, not having chronic diseases incompatibles with the activity.

Age: depends on the previous experience and physical condition.

Knowledge and previous experience: It is required to have previous experience in canyoning in Guara and have a good command of progression techniques.
The guide will assess the participants’ preparation having spoken to them or having done a canyon with them previously.

Weather conditions: the river flow must be suitable (the guide will assess it the day of the activity)

When can you do it? All year round, depending on the weather forecast and the river flow.

How long does it take? From 7 to 12 hours

Meeting point: Camping El Puente or Aparthotel Valle de Rodellar

How long in advance should you be there? 5 minutes before the activity starts

What is included? Photo reportage, qualified guide, accident insurance and technical material

Technical material: wetsuit, wetsuit socks, helmets, harnesses, carabiners and eights, lanyards, backpacks (special canyon), waterproof boxes, etc.

How should you dress up? Comfortable trainers, swimming suit, shorts and t-shirt. Optional: cap and sun glasses.

What else should you bring? Solar cream, some energetic food (nuts, chocolate, fruit, sandwich, etc.) and water.

Cancellation conditions: The activity can be cancelled more 10 days in advance. If the weather conditions are not appropriate or the number of participants is not sufficient money will be refunded.
